Kajsa Ollongren to become new EEAS secretary general

Former Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren will become the new secretary general of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Report informs that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced this on X.
According to her, Ollongren has 30 years of experience in public service, diplomacy and governance. She has served as the Netherlands' defense minister, interior minister and secretary general of the Dutch Ministry of General Affairs.
Kallas said Ollongren's leadership would be important in addressing the challenges ahead and added that she looked forward to working with her.
Ollongren will officially take up the post of EEAS secretary general on September 1 this year.
Kallas also appointed David Cvach, France"s former permanent representative to NATO, as the EEAS managing director for defense and security.
