Japan's foreign minister to visit Saudi Arabia, Oman

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi will visit Saudi Arabia and Oman from August 17 to 22, according to Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the visit, Motegi is expected to exchange views with officials in both countries on cooperation to ease tensions in the Middle East.

The discussions will also focus on ensuring free and safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, both of which are vital routes for international maritime trade and energy supplies.

The Japanese foreign minister is also expected to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia and Oman across a range of areas.
