Italy will send about 100 soldiers and several fighter jets to Romania as part of training for Romanian troops, Report informs, citing La Repubblica.
The operation is expected to begin on June 15 and last for one month.
It will differ from a regular NATO air policing mission and will take place at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base in Constanța. Romanian troops will be trained to shoot down drones.
The mission will be accompanied by fighter jets and will involve drones specializing in intercepting unmanned aerial vehicles.
The mission follows an incident involving a Russian drone in the Romanian city of Galați on May 29.
