Israeli strikes leave at least 37 dead in Gaza Strip

At least 37 people were killed in the Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip over the past night, according to the Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen, Report informs via TASS.

According to Al Mayadeen, Israeli artillery shelled the eastern and southern districts of Gaza City, where 30 people were killed.

Earlier, Israel announced a large-scale offensive operation in the Palestinian enclave with the aim of establishing complete control over Gaza City and fully defeating the Hamas radicals there. The army"s offensive plans were approved by Netanyahu in late August.
