Israeli, Lebanese ambassadors meet in Washington

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter and Lebanese Ambassador Nada Hamadeh Mouawad have held a meeting in Washington.

According to Report, citing The Times of Israel, an Israeli official said the meeting was smaller in scale than the recent rounds of US-mediated talks.

Another expanded round of negotiations is expected to take place in Rome next month. Talks scheduled for this week were postponed due to scheduling conflicts.

Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has said that after Israeli troops withdraw from southern Lebanon, he would like to conclude a security agreement with Israel.
