Israel says it intends to carry out retaliatory strikes on Iran

Israel intends to deliver a strong response to Iran in the event of rocket attacks on its territory, adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister Dmitry Gendelman said on social media, as quoted by Report.

He also noted that if escalation continues by the radical group Hezbollah, Israel will strike Lebanon as well.

"Any shot from Iran will receive a strong response. Any shelling from Lebanon will lead to a strike on the Dahiyeh," he wrote.

On the night of June 8, Iran carried out a missile strike on Israel. Tehran said the strike was in response to ongoing operations by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) against the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon. In response, the IDF carried out strikes on military targets in central and western Iran.

US President Donald Trump called on Iran and Israel to show restraint, but this did not lead to results.

Earlier, Iranian officials and military representatives warned that they were prepared to resume missile strikes on Israel, US positions in the region, and their allies in the event of further escalation.
