Israel plans to return five Lebanese prisoners to Lebanon today as part of ongoing negotiations between Tel Aviv and Beirut mediated by the United States, Report informs via The Times of Israel.
The move is being viewed as a goodwill gesture by Israel amid talks aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The next round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in Rome later this month.
It was previously reported that Israel and Lebanon are holding separate talks on identifying and returning the remains of Lebanese nationals and Israeli Jews in exchange for Lebanese prisoners.
