Iraqi commander dismissed following drone attacks on Saudi Arabia

Following drone strikes launched from Iraqi territory against facilities in Saudi Arabia, the operations commander of Iraq's Maysan province has been dismissed.

According to Report, Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's office announced the decision, which was based on the findings of a specialized commission established after the incident.

"The Prime Minister ordered the dismissal of the operations commander in Maysan province after it was confirmed that the attacks on our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were carried out from within this province," the statement read.

Iraq's Interior Ministry added that special forces discovered and seized 47 drones, 46 munitions, as well as control units, batteries, and other related equipment from a hidden warehouse.

An investigation into the case is ongoing.
