Iraq plans to increase oil exports through Türkiye's Mediterranean port of Ceyhan to 1.5 million barrels per day, Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair said, Report informs.
According to him, the current agreement with Türkiye provides for oil exports of up to 750,000 barrels per day. However, the sides plan to prepare a new agreement this year that would allow this figure to be doubled.
Khudair noted that oil and gas cooperation between Baghdad and Ankara is not limited to transit through Ceyhan.
He said the sides are also holding intensive talks on investments, field development in Iraq, oil production and refining, and the establishment of strategic partnerships between Iraqi and Turkish companies.
