Iran expects Hormuz shipping deal with Oman today

Iran expects to sign an agreement with Oman on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz by the end of the day, Al Jazeera says, citing informed sources.

The report said the two sides have only one or two relatively minor issues left to resolve before finalizing the agreement.

According to the broadcaster, one of the key outstanding points is determining the routes that ships will be permitted to use when transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian authorities reportedly believe the agreement could be announced later today.
