Iranian authorities have prevented six ships from attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz via what they described as an "unofficial and dangerous" route, Iran's state broadcaster IRIB said, Report informs via Al Jazeera.
It was noted that the vessels were moving in the southern part of the strait with their navigation systems turned off. One ship was reportedly damaged, while the remaining five were forced to return.
Iranian officials emphasized that strictly designated corridors have been established for shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and any other routes are considered unsafe.
