As many as 700 people have tried to seize the Saint-Charles train station, Le Figaro informs referring to police sources.
According to Report, the French Republican security companies deployed near the station held back the onslaught of about 700 people who tried to enter the station.
A large police group was deployed around the station. The use of tear gas was also reported.
The protests are taking place against the backdrop of a political crisis: parliament has passed a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister François Bayrou, and President Emmanuel Macron has appointed Sebastien Lecornu as the new head of government - the fifth in the last two years.
Opposition parties are preparing votes of no confidence.
