Hundreds of inmates flee Afghan prison

Hundreds of prisoners escaped from the main prison in the capital of the Afghan province of Parwan, the city of Charikar, Report informs citing the Russian media.
The head of the local police, Brigadier General Abdul Rauf Uruzgani, said the prisoners fled due to the negligence of the prison governor.
Inmates prisoners staged a riot in prison, after which the government released them.
The prison held about 600 prisoners, including representatives of the radical Taliban movement.
The security forces opened fire at the fugitives.
