Helicopter carrying Israeli president makes emergency landing

A helicopter of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carrying Israeli President Isaac Herzog was forced to make an unscheduled landing.
According to Israeli media, cited by Report, the incident was caused by a bird strike.
The incident occurred in the evening as Herzog was returning from a ceremony marking the 12th anniversary of Operation Protective Edge. After detecting a technical issue, the crew decided to land the helicopter at one of the IDF bases.
The Israeli president was not injured. He later transferred to another helicopter and continued with his planned visit to the family of a fallen soldier.
