Global COVID-19 recoveries top 1.4m

The number of recoveries from the COVID-19 pandemic has spiked to 1,400,009 globally.
The highest number of recoveries is recorded in the US (198,993), Spain (173,157), and Germany (143,300).
Azerbaijan’s confirmed tally stands at 2,279 as of May 9. A total of 1,576 people survived the infection, while 28 patients died in the country.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
