A child is killed on average every 10 minutes in the Gaza Strip, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told the United Nations Security Council on Friday, warning: "Nowhere and no one is safe," Report informs via Reuters.
"More than 10,800 people have now been killed in Gaza. Almost 70% of them, women and children," Ghebreyesus told the 15-member council.
"This crisis underlines once again the need for reform of the Security Council. It has long been my view that the Security Council no longer serves the purpose for which it was established. It represents the realpolitik of the Second World War, not the 21st century," he said.
