There are currently no indications of a wider outbreak of the hantavirus linked to the Andes strain, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a press conference following his meeting with Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Report informs.
"At present, we do not observe the beginning of a broader spread of the disease," Ghebreyesus said.
He also emphasized that the situation could change, noting the long incubation period of the virus, which means the number of infections could still rise in the coming weeks.
