The official visit of French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne to Canada has been postponed, Report informs, citing French media.
Matignon told the World that the visit was “postponed for a few weeks” due to the national context, confirming information from Figaro.
Borne was to travel to Quebec on April 19 to participate in the “France-Quebec alternating meetings” according to Le Figaro, as well as in Ottawa to meet his counterpart, Justin Trudeau. The head of government preferred to stay on French territory, the scene of strong opposition to pension reform.
The Constitutional Council must deliver its conclusions on the subject on Friday, a decisive meeting expected by the executive.
