France, Oman to cooperate on demining Strait of Hormuz

France and Oman have agreed to work together with their partners on demining the Strait of Hormuz to secure maritime routes and ensure free and unconditional passage through the strait.
Report informs that French President Emmanuel Macron shared the information on X.
Macron said he was pleased to welcome Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman on his first official visit to France.
He noted that Oman and France are strengthening their partnership through historic agreements in the economic, scientific, cultural and industrial fields.
Macron added that the two countries are working together to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.
