France launches probe into property of Russian oligarchs

In early July, the French Financial Prosecutor's Office launched a preliminary investigation into the origin of the assets of Russian oligarchs close to Vladimir Putin located in France.
Report informs referring to the European Truth that the investigation concerns possible cases of organized money laundering, corruption crimes, embezzlement of budget funds and gross violation of tax laws.
The central office for combating serious financial crimes is dealing with the investigation, which must establish under what conditions some of the oligarchs close to Putin were able to obtain significant assets in France.
