France and Sweden expected to sign defense cooperation agreement

A framework agreement on defense cooperation is expected to be signed during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Sweden, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said, Report informs.

"It is a great pleasure to welcome President Emmanuel Macron back to Stockholm. Indeed, today we will sign a framework agreement on defense cooperation, as well as a contract for the Swedish Armed Forces to acquire four French frigates produced by Naval Group," Kristersson said.

According to French media reports, an agreement worth 4.3 billion euros for the supply of French frigates to Sweden will be signed in Stockholm.

The delivery of the first frigate is scheduled for 2030.
