Finland joins France's nuclear deterrence initiative

Finland has joined France's nuclear deterrence initiative, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said in a post on X.

Stubb said the initiative is primarily aimed at strengthening European security.

He added that it would strengthen Europe's ability to take greater responsibility for its own defence and help prevent escalation.

"France is a good partner for Finland," Stubb said.
