Finland holds civilian ship seizure exercise in Baltic Sea

Finland's police special unit has conducted the Marsec EU26 exercise in the Baltic Sea, focusing on the interception of civilian vessels, Report informs via Finnish public broadcaster Yle.
Finnish police units and border guards took part in the exercise.
During the drills, personnel practiced helicopter landings on civilian vessels. European military experts and representatives of defense institutions observed the exercise.
Poland's Border Guard and the French Navy also participated with their vessels.
Finland said the Marsec EU26 exercise was intended to demonstrate its readiness to prevent incidents similar to those involving damage to energy cables in the Baltic Sea.
