EU opens formal accession talks with Ukraine, Costa says

The European Union is taking a historic step toward Ukraine's future membership by opening formal accession negotiations, European Council President Antonio Costa wrote on X.
Report informs that Costa said the move marked an important stage in Ukraine's path toward the EU.
He added that a united and determined G7 was essential to helping bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end and achieving a just and lasting peace.
