EU chief condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and expressed solidarity with the European Union's partners in the Gulf, Report informs.

"I condemn the Houthi attack against Saudi Arabia. We stand in solidarity with our Gulf partners in the face of relentless attacks by Iran's proxies," von der Leyen wrote on X.

She stressed that the European Union would continue working with its partners to ensure safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and to help maintain stability in the Middle East.

"We all have a stake in this," the European Commission president added.

Earlier, the Houthis had reportedly taken control of Yemen's entire western coastline, expanding their control over the strategically important Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
