Ebola death toll in DR Congo tops 1,600

The death toll from Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has exceeded 1,600, Report informs via TASS.
WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic said this at a briefing in Geneva.
"As of August 1, 3,748 confirmed cases had been recorded, including 1,657 deaths," he said.
According to him, the outbreak is spreading rapidly.
"To scale up response measures, we need additional support not only in terms of financing, but also in the form of other resources," Jasarevic said.
