Duncan Norman: Peace between Baku and Yerevan to change future of entire region

The final peace between Baku and Yerevan and the opening of new economic opportunities in the South Caucasus could significantly change the future of Azerbaijan and the entire region, as well as contribute to improved regional connectivity, the newly appointed British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman said at a press conference, according to Report.

"I think it will change a lot for the better. As I said, we can see how far Azerbaijan has already come, but the signing of a peace agreement and the opening up of economic opportunities will have a huge impact on the future of Azerbaijan and the future of the region," the diplomat said.

The ambassador stressed the particular importance of the economic component of the peace process. According to him, these economic opportunities are of interest not only to Azerbaijan, but also to Türkiye and other countries.
