The minister noted that Copenhagen is sending 2,000 artillery shells at the request of the Ukrainian authorities.
"The situation is such that we all see that a counter-offensive has been commenced. It is already underway. Ukraine managed to contain the Russian Armed Forces, and now it's time to return favors. For this, Ukrainian troops must be provided with ammunition," the minister specified.
In turn, acting Defence Minister of Denmark Troels Lund Poulsen stressed that the assistance would solve the acute shortage of ammunition.
Denmark provides Ukraine with military equipment and weapons, including Leopard 2 tanks. The Nordic country is already starting to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
Denmark recently launched a $130 million investment fund social program for Ukraine.
