Death toll of Thai citizens in Israel rises to 20

The death toll of Thai citizens in Israel as a result of the actions of Palestinian radicals has increased to 20 people, said Kanchana Patarachoke, Director General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The total number of the killed is 20. The Thai Embassy in Israel has also received information about an increase in the number of casualties, which has reached 13 people. There are 14 Thai citizens hostage,” she said.

She noted that about 4,000 Thais wished to evacuate from Israel. The first group of 15 people is expected to leave the country on a commercial flight on October 12. Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin ordered Airbus A340 and C-130 aircraft to be prepared to evacuate Thai citizens from Israel, but Israeli authorities have not yet issued the appropriate permission.

In total, about 30,000 Thai citizens live in Israel, 5,000 of them were in the Gaza Strip.
