Death toll in Nepal landslide rises to 1,396

The death toll from the devastating landslide near Nepal's border with China has risen to 1,396, according to the Nepalese authorities, Report informs via China Central Television (CCTV).
It was noted that more than 5,100 people remain missing.
Earlier reports had put the number of dead at 1,386.
The natural disaster occurred on the morning of August 16 in northern Nepal, triggered by an avaanche. A powerful rock flow traveled more than 70 kilometers along a riverbed at high speed, flooding a large area.
In China, 43 people were killed and 519 remain missing.
