The number of people killed in Israeli military attacks on Lebanon since the escalation began on March 2 has risen to 4,246, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.
According to Report, the ministry announced the updated figures on the social media platform X, adding that 12,190 people have been injured to date.
The statement also referred to ongoing regional developments and recent military escalation in the Middle East.
It noted that after the Lebanese group Hezbollah entered the conflict on the side of Iran by launching rockets and drones at Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out strikes in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, areas where militant infrastructure is located. Israel has also expanded its ground operations in southern Lebanon.
On June 26, Israel and Lebanon signed a US-brokered framework agreement aimed at initiating a phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from parts of southern Lebanon, alongside measures for restoring Lebanese sovereignty and disarming non-state armed groups.
