British security minister Dan Jarvis has been appointed as the country's defense minister, Downing Street said, Report informs via Reuters.
Jarvis is a Labour MP and former army officer who served in Afghanistan and Iraq before entering politics. He has represented Barnsley Central in Parliament since 2011 and previously held roles focused on national security.
His appointment comes as the UK government reshuffles its cabinet to strengthen defence and security leadership amid ongoing global challenges.
