From December 1, Cyprus began to charge a visa fee of 80 euros for single and multiple entry visas for Russian citizens, Report informs referring to foreign media.
At the same time, for children from 6 to 12 years old, the visa fee will be 40 euros.
Previously, Russians could fill out a form on the consulate website and get a free visa, which allowed them to enter the island for tourism purposes.
In September, the Council of the European Union decided to completely suspend the visa facilitation agreement between the EU and Russia. In accordance with this decision, the cost of the visa fee was increased from 35 to 80 euros, and the rules for issuing multiple entry visas were tightened.
