The European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom have agreed to further strengthen relations and discussed cooperation in support for Ukraine, António Costa, President of the European Council, said in a post on X, following his talk with the UK's new Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Report informs.
"A good first call last night with Andy Burnham. We agreed to further strengthen EU-UK relations, in view of the 2nd EU-UK Summit in Brussels later in the year. We also discussed the common geopolitical challenges facing Europe. The EU and the UK will continue their close cooperation in support of Ukraine. The EU and UK are standing side-by-side as friends and allies," reads the post.
