The volume of oil and petroleum products transported through the Strait of Hormuz amounts to nearly 11 million barrels per day, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said this in an interview with Bloomberg TV, Report informs.
"The seven-day average volume of oil and petroleum products transported by ships through the strait has been just under 11 million barrels per day. Another 3–5 million barrels per day is transported through pipelines that bypass the strait," he said.
According to Wright, US warships are still helping vessels transit the Strait of Hormuz, which remains a conflict zone.
