Ceuta mayor: Up to 10,000 migrants remain in the city

Up to 10,000 migrants who entered the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco are still in the city, Ceuta Mayor-President Juan Jesús Vivas said at a briefing, according to Spanish media, cited by Report.

"According to our estimates, up to 10,000 people who took part in this incursion are still in Ceuta. This represents at least 10% of the total number of migrants who arrived," he said.

He proposed equipping a facility to operate as a Foreigners" Detention Center, "where migrants could be placed and kept in isolation."

Spanish authorities have said they intend to return irregular migrants who entered Ceuta to Morocco.
