Bouinzal Nohaila: There is inequality in development of cities in Africa

Some cities in Morocco have been left out of development and investment, Bouinzal Nohaila, founder and legal advisor of Nobu Consulting company, said at the international conference on "The Role of Youth in Urban Planning in the Process of Decolonization," organized by the Baku Initiative Group within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Report informs.

She said that there are problems related to urban planning in Morocco and other African countries:

"When we talk about the decolonization of urbanization, we should not only talk about buildings and infrastructure. Who are the cities built for, whose voices shape them, and do young people truly have a place in determining their own future? In Morocco and many countries in Africa, urban development still reflects inequalities stemming from history and modern growth processes. There is inequality in the development of cities in Africa. Some areas receive more investment, more services and opportunities, while other regions are still left out and cannot adequately benefit from services."
