Bosnia and Herzegovina will purchase 10 counter-drone systems from Türkiye, Report's Balkan bureau informs.
The contract was signed by Bosnia and Herzegovina's Defense Minister Zukan Helez and Ahmet Akyol, CEO of ASELSAN, one of Türkiye's leading defense industry companies.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the General Staff of the country's Armed Forces, Helez thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye's National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and ASELSAN for cooperation in the military sphere.
Helez said the contract marks the third major technological support provided by the Turkish company to the army of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The minister stressed that the systems purchased from Türkiye are of great importance for protecting military facilities, the country's defense industry infrastructure and other strategically important sites from modern aerial threats.
ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol said modern counter-drone systems have become increasingly important at a time when aerial threats are rapidly growing around the world.
He also noted that the company's management is assessing opportunities to expand cooperation with defense industry enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
