US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was asked about a possible meeting between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin and said the two countries are in discussions.
"I don't know if there's a formal acceptance, but I know we're talking about it and talking about the timing of such a meeting," he said.
Before that, White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said at a regular briefing for journalists that the timing of a potential US-Russian summit had not yet been confirmed.
Russian Presidential Aide Dmitry Peskov also commented on the reports of a possible Putin-Biden meeting.
