Belgium will deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine in September, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot said following the Ukraine–Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) meeting in Odessa, Report informs via News Live.
“We will provide you with several F-16s next month,” Prévot said, without specifying the exact number of aircraft.
The minister also stated that Belgium will allocate €20 million for Ukraine’s economic support, provide minesweeping vessels in the Black Sea until 2029, and supply an unspecified number of drones.
Previously, Belgium had committed to transferring its older F-16s to Ukraine, but only after acquiring 11 new F-35s from the United States, none of which have yet been delivered to Brussels.
