Bear attacks tourist tent in Altai, kills young woman

A bear attacked a tent occupied by tourists in Russia's Altai Republic and dragged a young woman into a wooded area, where it mauled her to death.

Report informs via REN TV that, according to regional emergency services, the incident occurred on the banks of the Biya River.

"The predator attacked the tent, tore it apart and dragged the woman out. The bear then took her into the forest, where it mauled her to death," the emergency service said.

The Investigative Committee is conducting an inquiry into the incident.
