The full-scale war in Ukraine has dramatically changed the lives of many families, Report informs.
One of those whose lives have been upended by the war is Ilyas Talibov, an Azerbaijani by origin and a Ukrainian citizen.
Talibov, who has lived in Kyiv for over 30 years, repairs cars.
As a result of the ongoing missile and drone attacks on Kyiv from Russia, Talibov's home and other property have been seriously damaged: "During one of the strikes, my child was wounded. I am not leaving the country because I am a citizen of Ukraine, my business and my property are here. But because of the recent strikes, I moved my family out of Ukraine."
Ilyas recounted how he himself miraculously survived one of these strikes: "It was 3 a.m. The alarm sounded, then the explosions began. We were already downstairs, in the shelter. I quickly ran out to move one of the cars that was parked between the buildings. When I reached the car, I heard a powerful explosion. I quickly lay down between the car and the fence. At that moment, an explosion occurred above me. Later, I found out that the missile had been neutralized at a height of 20-25 meters above me. Shrapnel fell near me, and debris landed behind the building. I lost consciousness. Fuel was flowing down the avenue, gasoline was leaking from all the cars. One of the buildings was on fire. Everyone was terrified, the lights were off, and there was chaos everywhere."
