At least 2 dead, 14 missing after flooding at Grand Canyon National Park

At least two people have died and 14 are missing following flooding at Grand Canyon National Park in the US state of Arizona, Report informs, citing ABC News.

The US National Park Service said the flooding damaged the national park over the weekend, destroying campgrounds, buildings, hiking trails and critical infrastructure.

According to preliminary assessments, around 40% of the park's Transcanyon Waterline has been damaged or destroyed.

Authorities have begun evacuations, while search and rescue operations are continuing.

The US National Weather Service has warned of the risk of further flooding at the Grand Canyon, as well as across northern and central Arizona, through at least Monday evening.
