Araghchi: Escalation in Middle East growing due to actions of US, Israel

Iran regularly holds consultations with Russia on all issues, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Report informs.

"We [Iran] constantly and regularly hold consultations with our Russian colleagues on all issues," Araghchi noted.

He added that the escalation in the Middle East is growing due to the actions of the US and Israel towards Iran.

"Our meeting is taking place at a time when crises are deepening in the region [the Middle East] <...> You see that the level of escalation is growing every day, as Israel and the US are attacking our facilities," Araghchi said, calling these actions 'illegitimate.'

"These actions violate international norms. We are defending our sovereignty," the head of Iranian diplomacy said.

Araghchi also thanked Russia for condemning the US and Israeli attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities.
