Algeria closes airspace to UAE aircraft amid diplomatic rift

Algeria will completely close its airspace to all civil and military aircraft belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 11, Report informs, citing Algeria's Ministry of National Defence.
The ministry said the measure would not apply to commercial civilian flights to Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algeria.
Those flights will be allowed to continue until the end of 2026, while the relevant agreement remains in force.
Earlier, Algeria's Foreign Ministry announced a decision to sever diplomatic relations with the UAE, saying all possibilities for preserving bilateral ties had been exhausted.
