Albania's parliament has approved a $302 million loan from the United States to finance military procurement, Report informs, citing Bloomberg.
The country's Defense Ministry said the loan would be used to finance purchases for Albania's air, land and naval forces, as well as cyber defense, command systems and military infrastructure.
Opposition politicians in Albania said they supported investment in the military sector, but objected that they had been given too little time to study the agreement. Some parts of the document were confidential and required lawmakers to sign declarations to gain access.
