ADNOC tanker attacked in Strait of Hormuz

A vessel owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was struck by a missile while passing through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Al Jazeera, cited by Report.

No one was injured in the attack, and the situation has been brought under control.

Meanwhile, Iraqi Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed Khudair, commenting on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, said Iraq's oil exports through the strait had fallen by 75% since the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran.

According to him, before the war, Iraq exported around 3.4 million barrels of oil per day. Currently, the country produces about 2.7 million barrels per day and exports between 1.5 million and 1.7 million barrels.

Khudair stressed the need to diversify export routes in the future.

He also said Iraq was in talks with Iran about the possibility of exporting its oil through the Strait of Hormuz, but the mechanism is not yet operational.

"We reject any attacks on oil companies in Iraq and have agreed to compensate them in the event of damage," the minister said.
