Abbas Abbasov: Consequences of colonialism affect ecology and urban environment

The consequences of colonialism manifest not only in political and economic spheres but also have a serious impact on ecology, the urban environment, and housing conditions of the population, the Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), Abbas Abbasov, told journalists at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, the consequences of colonial policy affect various spheres of human life.
The BIG executive director also recalled the situation on the island of Mayotte, which is under the control of France.
According to him, the natural disaster that occurred there drew attention to problems that had long remained in the shadows.
He added that similar problems are observed not only in French but also in Dutch colonies.
