5 killed in roadside blast in Somalia

Somali police confirmed Tuesday that five people were killed and 10 others wounded in a roadside blast in the national capital of Mogadishu, Report informs, citing Xinhua.
"The landmine was planted along the road in Heliwa District, targeting passengers of a minibus and a motorcycle taxi," the police said in a statement, blaming al-Shabab for the latest attack in the capital.
The police said an investigation was underway to determine the motive for the attack after the wounded were rushed to hospitals.
The latest incident came as the government forces have ramped up security operations in Mogadishu to ensure maximum security for residents.
