Russian troops sustain heavy losses, Chernihiv's heating and lighting systems destroyed

Artillery and air bombs were launched by the Russian Armed Forces in 2-3 directions in the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv from yesterday evening to this morning, a person involved in Chernihiv's defense told Report.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces and volunteers carried out the city's defense, did not surrender, and repulsed the Russian forces.

Over the past day, 40 civilians were killed, and about 100 were injured in airstrikes in Chernihiv alone. According to operative information, about 100 vehicles were destroyed, and the Russian side had 200 losses.

Chernihiv's lighting system failed due to the bombing, and there is no heating in the two-thirds of the city.

Local residents are currently building defense barricades together with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and children are helping volunteers.
